It’s time for the 10th Annual Halloweensie Contest! Here are the rules: Write a 100 word Halloween story appropriate for children (children here defined as 12 and under) (title not included in the 100 words), using the words skeleton, creep, and mask. Your story can be scary, funny, sweet, or anything in between, poetry or prose, but it will only count for the contest if it includes those 3 words and is 100 words (you can go under, but not over!) Get it? Halloweensie – because it’s not very long and it’s for little people.
Here’s my story!
A Ghostly Encounter
Clementine crept around the corner…the skeletal figure had disappeared from the landing. “Where did you go?” she whispered. She adjusted her spirt-detecting mask and tiptoed into her parent’s bedroom.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are,” she called.
Eeeeree, the closet door creaked open. Huddled in the corner was her brother Andy, a snickering skull in full face-paint.
“Fooled you!” he squealed. But then the wallpaper’s blue irises caught their attention. Did they just move? A figure oozed out of the blue over the bed and glided out the door. “Let’s go!” they shouted, running down the stairs.
Imaginative use of 100 words. You are so creative! And I love your character’s name!

fun story-I like the way Clementine turns the table on Andy and the apparition turns the table on both of them.
And what a treat, that skeleton picture!
